Sly Jiggy - The Fog (Official Music Video)

What’s good everyone? It’s been a minute and a half since our last written blog but don’t trip. We were working the whole time. Since the last check in we had, the weather watcher has launched video content on our YouTube channel. In addition to video interviews and BTS, we started filming/directing music videos as well. Today’s forecast stems from our first music video for a Reno, NV local artist by the name of Sly Jiggy. The visuals comes from a single off his most recent project “Twerp",” available on all platforms now. The song is titled “The Fog” and is a clever flip from a classic Cypress Hill sample. True to Sly fashion, he breaks down how he chooses to kick back in his free time. Of course with one rolled.

The song kicks in with that nostalgic sound any avid hip hop fan can gravitate towards. The intro remains brief as Sly wastes no time to go in. The first verse is signature Sly flavor, setting up the scene with his vivid imagery. The verse is a nice blend of story telling, punchlines, and perspective shared. If there’s one thing we can detect from Sly’s music, is that you get a sense of the upbringing and lessons learned over the course of his life. With a tangible sense of flavor being incorporated into every line he lays down. As for the visuals, you see Sly in his element. Rolling up and unwinding at the end of his day. Perfect for getting his mind right before getting to work. In our time spent with Sly, he revealed in more detail about what he’s been working on lately.

“In the cut where I rest, smoking in a safe haven. Keep thinking that you raw like the papers I’m baking. Verses never flawed and it’s all in the making. And I’m only getting started cause I know these n****s waiting.”

At the time of this blog, Sly has 2 albums released in 2021 and about 3 more awaiting release. Never one to slow down, Sly reveals that he has 1o more songs outside of the completed works that he’s stacking up for future work. Needless to say, Sly has been working and is ready to show the listeners what he is capable of. Sly has been making his own beats, writing his own lyrics, and recording himself on everything he’s been working on this last year. Sly is looking to earn his respect through action and this video serves as a preview of what is next to come from Sly. He welcomes all listeners and doubters to witness the journey. Whether or not anyone gives him the credit or acknowledges the catalog depth, Sly does this out of pure love. In turn, no one can stop the momentum that he has going.

“Hits from the bong, my shit’s getting long. Swanging, yoking, I’m dipping along. All I do is smoke, load bowls, blow the fog. Rolling backwoods, keep beats by the log.”

This young stoner life isn’t for everyone but those who understand know the vibes. Life gets hectic and instead of dwelling on the trauma, we roll it up, ignite, and watch the worries get carried off in the wind along with the ashes. After all, the lonely stoner seems to free his mind at night, right? Sly takes to the second verse to break down to listeners about the person behind the music. Sly has never been the type to just say anything that comes to his mind, a lot of his lyrics stem from real life experiences. Making his projects very relatable and inspiring when taking the time to digest it. Sly is all about keeping a level head space and maintaining a serene balance of inner peace. Being quick to jump to action or entertain anything outside of positivity may have been an old habit of his. However, these days he is trying to keep it cool. As a growing person, young father, and overall human, Sly is all about bettering himself right now. Don’t get it confused, Sly still remembers his old ways if it comes down to it.

This right here is perfect for any session or laidback environment, preferably with some loud speakers present. Stream the full project below if you enjoyed the music video.
