The “ReUp Radio Live” Show Recap + Performances

What’s good y’all? We are back with more forecast and coverage on the best unsigned talent in the region. Last week we dropped off a new music directed/filmed in house by the WW for Sly Jiggy. This week we are back with recap videos from our most recent visit to a local show. The event was put on by ReUp Radio from Wild 102.9 radio station (Saturday night, going into Sunday, at 12am-1am). The two hosts, Danny Prophetz and smOke skreeZy put on for artists in their local region. For their first event, they kept it true to their roots and showcased some of the most talented artists that they see on their grind.

The building was filled with many WW blog alumni, it was a pleasure to make introductions with a handful of artists who haven’t met up with the WW. For all the familiar faces that we recognized, the positivity and love was in the air. Upon entry, I was greeted by Jerry Abasto who brought WW backstage to get some BTS access. It was a truly unique experience and a reminder that Reno has a thriving cultural footprint when it comes to fine arts, in this case music.

The hosts Danny and smOke were grateful to have WW and everyone else in attendance. The two, true MC’s themselves, kicked off the show with amazing performances and paved the way for a vibe filled night. Watch below for performances of Danny Prophetz, smOke skreeZy, RichE On One. Jay-T, ZP Ratik, dARTh Tone, and Young Bolt. Watch closely, you’ll find the night had many guest appearances from major factors in the scene.

The introductory set from the hosting MC’s reminded us how refined the skills of these two alone are. Very true to the craft and poised performers. The love they show was reflected in their set, as they brought on guests such as Platinumb to come rock on stage with them during their time.

The first act on the bill, was San Jose’s own, Jay-T of Full Price Music/Media group. He brought out his favorite Reno locals to hop on stage with him, even previewing new music that is yet to be released. His first show in Reno and the crowd was loving it. Watch him perform his biggest hit “Stimulus Check” above.

For the second act, RichE On One brought out his PakCity family to put on a hell of a show. BennyGetPaid and RichE had incredible energy. Giving the night the perfect hype with their street influenced sound. Putting on for Reno and representing that WolfPack mentality. Keep an eye on these guys, they move like a team!

ZP Ratik was up next in the set list and does his thing as usual. Performing classic cuts and newer records, he brought his high intensity energy to the Alpine. Getting to see him again always reminds me of how sharp this man is as a performer. The songs and stage presence are equally matched. Regardless of the show, if ZP is there then you don’t want to miss.

A real Reno legend, dARTh Tone hopped on stage with a demanding presence and immediately brought the house down. Playing some of his hardest hitting records and bringing his day one brothers along for the set. Tone’s morals and standards are apparent in every action. Enjoy the clip above to see how one of the best to do it around here gets down. Two cuts from his “Too:47” EP in the video above.

The main event of the night belonged to Young Bolt. Perhaps one of the biggest and most loyal fan bases I have seen in the section. The man has star power and you feel in his presence. The people’s champ, people were looking for Bolt the whole night. Once he got on stage, the love was in the air. The bad chicks and the thugs were popping out to catch his set. Even inviting Savybalboa and LaDontrae on stage to vibe out, Bolt showed major love to the city that loves him. Catch the songs he performed up above and get a taste of the night if you couldn’t pull up. We will catch you at the next one!

Be sure to follow the ReUp radio show below and see how they show love to their local scene on a weekly basis!
