In The Field: The Cast Away$ Cookout

What’s good y’all? It’s been a little while since we had some original content on the YouTube channel. We are busting out footage from the archives to recap the activity WW Music Forecast team has been covering the last few weeks. This time the Cast Away$ invited us to their cookout for the filming of their latest music video “Falling For You.” The For//You production is full of color and life, much like the song itself.

The day was filled with good vibes, good food, and some cloudy skies but nonetheless, it was memorable. A mixture of friends, collaborators, and family showed up for the occasion. A mixture of different walks of life shows how inviting the Cast Away$ are when it comes to inclusivity. Everyone who attended was made to feel welcome just like family because that’s what it is.

We were sure to document the event and have the In Field reporter, Bullseye, talk to some folks about the day. With the grill going, games of catch, music, and filming, the occasion turned into a real life movie. If have not yet, tap in with the music video after watching our BTS video. Also, subscribe to the YouTube channel while you are at it! Follow the Cast Away$ right here if you like what they have going on! The song is a summer anthem for sure.

WW Presents: 7 Day Forecast (7/3/22)

What’s good everyone? We are back this week for a pre-holiday forecast. Hoping to give you some under rated gems to add to your playlist for the one time. Hope y’all having a safe time with family or getting to the bag if you are working the weekend. We are not going to take up much of your time with the introduction today so let’s get into the 7 highlights of the week. Let’s get into it!

R. Sol - Lose Your Soul (Release Date: 2/19/21)

Starting us off we have R. Sol and his self-directed visual for his track “Lose Your Soul.” A cut from his full length project ‘You Thought,’ which is one of many released by him the last year. This song takes the honest route as the artist lists off people/things in his life he find forgiveness in, as opposed to letting the blame take him away from enjoying life. Some people lose their selves in the things we find shame in. This song touches on those who find themselves on the fence between maintaining peace and losing their head completely. Thankful for the vulnerability demonstrated in this song to remind folks that real feelings look like this.

If you enjoyed this cut from R. Sol then tap in with him right here.

Neek - Premium (Release Date: 7/1/22)

The artist known as Neek, is back with another single for the summer. This time he releases “Premium” for listeners in time for the 4th of July weekend. Letting people know that everything in his life is nothing but the premium going forward. His girl, his work, and even the gas in his car (flex in these times). A short but fun song with cadences that are impossible to not bounce alongside with. When you raise your standards, the universe is bound to meet you there when you really mean it. There’s nothing wrong with wanting the better things and demanding more out of life. Neek is simply just demonstrating how it’s done and how to make it look good.

If you enjoy this song by Neek, follow him right here for more.

Constant Lyt - In Light (Release Date: 7/3/22)

Freshly released, we have Constant Lyt and his single “in light” produced by SamRuckusMusic. The SJ based artist thoughtfully paints his words across the instrumental canvas. To be grateful in this life is really the easiest way to guide ourselves through it all. Taking the time to contextualize the poetic description of being in the moment and what it means to live in light. Being honest and forgiving with yourself is where it starts. You can not control how it plays out but you do have control on how you let it play out inside your head. Perception is everything and the only thing at the same time. Listen to this and try to see yours a little differently. Some times you just need an outside perspective to put it all in place for you.

If you enjoyed the ideas expressed in this, then be sure to follow right here.

Alwa Gordon, Devien - Do Not Disturb (Release: 7/1/22)

We have Alwa Gordon, this time with Devien, for their collaboration on the song titled “Do Not Disturb.” A song for those who need a little bit more time alone than others. We all have those moments that no one but ourselves can save us from. It’s healthy to remove yourself from sources of drained energy. To recharge requires a reset. No matter how much people claim to be there for you, it is not their burden or responsibility to be that for you when maintaining your own energy is already difficult to face alone. If you are able to look within yourself and sort through it then you are more than equipped to conquer life in your own right. Do your inventory, find acceptance for your own performance, and be kind to yourself.

If you can relate to this in any way, be sure tap in right here.

Cast Away$ - Falling For You (Release Date: 7/1/22)

Up next, we have a summer banger, with Cast Away$ latest track “Falling For You.” The occasion was brought to life by For//You Production on the direction of the music video. The Cast Away$ take advantage of the season’s vibes and keep the theme of the video to match them. The visuals take place at a Cook Out setting, showing the crew with their fellow cast aways, friends and family, that stand out as individuals but together. Lots of bright colors and good energy matches what the group is all about. Feeling, family, and fun is what their music represents. A good summer love is unmatched and can be something you can not avoid. Never fight what is meant to be, go find out what is in store for you. The song is catchy and hard not to replay. Add this to your playlist in time for your 4th of July activities.

If you can get down with this track then be sure to tap in with the guys right here.

Jimmy Teflon - Churchill Downs [Remix] (Release Date: 7/1/22)

Up next, we have a freeverse on a popular beat from Jimmy Teflon. For the listeners, he decides to remix Churchill Downs by Drake & Jack Harlow as a soundcloud exclusive. Taking the time to show his lyrical exercise and have fun with what is going on in the pop culture. Getting more serious with the song matter and speaking on his perspective when it comes to his world of music, who he keeps close, and watching out for energy you can’t control. This one is a dope listen if you have not heard a more lyrical side of Jimmy Teflon. We are excited to see what is next in store for his sound going forward. Be sure to stream his music on all platforms in addition to this rare gems we are getting from the artist.

If you rocked with this freeverse, be sure to follow him right here.

ZP Ratik - Talking To Myself (Release Date: 6/30/22)

To close out the week, we have ZP Ratik, who has putting in a lot of work in 2022 already. This time he is fresh off his release for his latest single “Talking To Myself.” The song touches on the idea of being “easier said than done” when it comes to the grind. ZP, who is very hands on with his craft, may feel sometimes that he works hard enough but sometimes wonder if that is enough. A lot of time faced with himself and what he has done versus what his own standard is. Most of the time he reaches or exceeds, if not, there is something learned and gained from it. The song is him talking to himself and what he has to deal with in order to prosper further in his journey. All while maintaining a fun but well put together verse across the whole thing. The beat is captivating and the cadences bring a different texture to the substance contained. We are excited about the evolution of ZP and what he has coming up for the end of summer.

If you are a supporter of this artist, do not forget to follow him right here to get ready!

That wraps it up for this week’s highlighted songs, we hope you enjoyed the forecast. A lot of lyrical and meaningful artists in the rotation this week. We hope you have a safe and fun weekend with your families. Until next week, from the WW Forecast team, stay blessed and add something new to your playlist. You never know what song you are going to make your favorite memories with.

You know what to do now, run it up!

Of course the radar stayed running and we made sure to have another stack of fresh new records for y’all to enjoy. If this is your first time on the blog, what we have been doing the last couple months is the weekly forecast. The team here at WW Music Forecast & Coverage convenes on a weekly basis to pick seven select releases from an artist you may not be too familiar with.

Our goal is to put you on to something new to add on your playlist and hopefully help you find your next favorite artist. We support underground, independent, generally unknown artists in regards to the professional world of music. So if you don’t like listening to what’s going on in the mainstream space of music then this might be the place for you. Thanks for tuning in!

Now that you are caught up to speed on our mission here at WW, let’s get right to it.

Allways Khalil - Forever Green EP (Release Date: 6/20/22)

Starting the week off, we have Allways Khalil with his latest project ‘Forever Green EP’ from just a couple days ago. The Northern California emcee showcasing his cohesiveness and sharpened skillset with an interesting feat accomplish during the conception of this EP. The 6 six song offering, coupled along with 4 music videos, were all made in a span of one night. That’s right, written, recorded, and filmed in one night. The work ethic on the idea lone is higher level. The fact that the music holds his its own against many an EP that were weeks or months in creation. This shows the capability of this artist to hone in on his abilities when it really matters. A quick but fun listen that has many key moments, with gems and cleverly written lines all through out. You can tell this was created from the heart and was truly indicative of the soul inside the person who made it.

If you like the video down below from the latest visual to release off this project, then stream the whole tape below. Don’t forget to follow Allways Khalil right here.

Jboi feat EliasKwola - Surviving (Release Date: 6/25/22)

We are taking it to Pittsburgh, PA for the next song of the week. A collaboration between Jboi and EliasKwola, merging two different worlds for a song with the sound of a genre of their own. Jboi is producer, artist, engineer, and owner of his own recording studio. So a hands on, multifaceted artist that creates music on his own terms. Appropriate mindset that matches the message of the song. Perseverance can be heard all over this song and the many titles he has collected is a testament to that. Alongside to assist, is pop-inspired hip hop artist EliasKwola. Another person who creates music in a world unlike any other artist, they both have original and completely different styles but hearing them collide on a track is something special. Without having the words to completely define it, the song is anthemic, unapologetic, and authentic. It is hard to not bob your head along with it.

If you are feeling the vibe of this song, then tap in with Jboi and EliasKwola on social media.

Junes feat Bozzy - Breakdown (Release Date: 6/17/22)

For the next record, we are taking it back to Reno, NV with Junes, of Glass Tung, and his latest solo release titled “Breakdown.” A personal record where he touches on the more difficult thoughts that he faces inside his mind. Trying to fight a war going on inside while finding things to be grateful for. Both verses of his filled with honest vulnerability and conflicting viewpoints within. An equally emotional performance on the feature, Bozzy being on the hook further develops the sentiments being expressing from Junes. This song connects with the unfavorable side of the human mind. It feels like an ode to self sabotage, as often self can be the biggest hurdle for being the protagonist in your own life. It requires maintenance and work to forgive or heal yourself. If you can do your inventory inside your mind, know where you did wrong, right, more than enough, or the bare minimum then you might be able to walk away with your sanity. However, not taking the time to face the things you have been neglecting will inevitably lead to your mental engine blowing out and leaving you stranded on a lonely road.

If you are digging the message in this one, follow Junes right here.

Breaker feat Bozzy - Blue Skies (Release Date: 6/21/22)

Have you heard of the 8 year old rapper? If you are not familiar with the Heartbreak City, then you’re in for a treat. We had to include the young prodigy known as Breaker. Fresh off his own headlining show in Reno, NV (that’s right, he headlined his own show at The Alpine Reno). Breaker is back with a visual for his latest release titled “Blue Skies.” Featuring a familiar face to the WW Radar, Bozzy, who has been working heavy amongst his peers with a second feature being released within the same week. This song continues to bring the feel good energy of letting the stress roll off your shoulders. Everyone goes through their own difficulties in life, it’s part of life’s inevitabilities but that does not mean we can find a way to prosper. The two offer their spin on turning negatives into positives because no one has time for anything other than what is good for them. We just want to have a good time!

If you are feeling the good energy from the young, charismatic MC then follow his page here for future content (account not managed by the artist).

Jimmy Teflon feat Doc Dolla, OW Tubbz, & Papi Dano - Acrobat (Release Date: 6/24/22)

Continuing the theme of Summer vibes, we have Jimmy Teflon and his latest visual, directed by Tragedy Struck, titled “Acrobat.” This time he taps in with a couple heads to bring the party to life. A big feature with Doc Dolla out of Richmond, CA followed by his fellow MCs OW Tubbz and Papi Dano. The song itself is perfectly fit for a night out at the club surrounded by some bad women looking to have some fun. From the sounds to the sights, this release is perfectly executed and is going to be a song repeatedly played this summer. Everyone provides a unique moment and makes it a memorable experience. It’s addicting and damn near impossible to not quote for days after the fact. From Reno to the Bay, it couldn’t be done any other way. The instrumental has that bounce, makes you want to move and sing along the way. If you have not heard this one from the album ‘Money Talks’ then here is your chance to experience it in a new light. This one will not be going away anytime soon.

If you dig what’s going on in this video, tap in with Jimmy to see where the world of Teflon is going next right here.

Jay-T - Is We (Release Date: 6/25/22)

Continuing the theme of dope visuals, we have the FullPrice representative, Jay-T. The artist, producer, engineer, and director is fresh off a release from his latest single “Is We” from the ‘Pictured This’ album. Filmed by Casey Scarpa, directed by FullPriceMedia (owned by Jay-T himself). Perhaps his best self directed visual of the year, Jay-T is known to have a professional video for everyone of his releases, this time around is no different. Merging the effects with the cinematic shots, this is a newer aesthetic to FullPriceMedia visuals. The song itself takes an R&B approach and features the signature Jay-T melodies to accompany the genuine vibes for easygoing listening. Play this with a cool shorty on a fine summer night just to keep the energy proper. If just want to kick it and get high then you might be obliged to have her slide is the energy i’m picking up off this one. A fun listen that appeals to a variety of settings where music can be enjoyed for casual listening. Even a good gem for a road trip when they pass you the aux.

If you are new to Jay-T then follow his page right here and watch the journey.

L Cone feat Jokesta Fresh & Meny Hits - Real G (Release Date: 6/24/22)

To close it out, we are taking it to Cabo with the latest track from L Cone featuring Jokesta Fresh & Meny Hits on the production. A heavy hitting ode to the west coast lifestyle from Reno to Cabo. The G-Funk inspired sounds from this collective of artists is nostalgic and reminiscent of all the best qualities from the music people of our generation grew up on. Don’t get it twisted though, it’s not just paying homage to them, its a lifestyle thing. It’s not to be played with and they’ve had to face the choices they made. At the end of the day, it’s just how life plays out and they know how to move going forward. Not living with regrets and keeping your head high when things get rough is what these guys are all about. The work ethic from the streets being channeled into the music is the most authentic way to go about the music grind. Jokesta alone has had an incredible year so far with back to back release and plenty of features to go along with the momentum. This is our first time hearing L Cone via Jokesta Fresh’s activity on our radar lately. We are looking forward to tapping in with this artist and what the scene in Cabo is providing to the culture. Do not be sleeping on Cabo artists, they are making moves this year.

If you are loving the vibes from la raza, then give L Cone a follow right here.

Now that’s what we call a wrap for the week! Plenty of dope things across the spectrum to enjoy. Open your mind and give them a listen, you might be surprised on how much you enjoy something a little different. Did you find a new artist this week? If so, let us know down below on any one of our social media accounts. Stay tuned for updates on the best artists you might not know about yet. WW Presents: 7 Day Forecast (6/12/22)

What’s good y’all? It’s once again another exciting week here at theweatherwatcher.com. It’s about that time where we give you a handful of records that have recently dropped from artists you may not know about yet. Like every 7 Day Forecast, it’s our goal to help you find something dope to add to your playlist going into the week. With so much music coming out, it is hard to find something unique with so much music coming out these days. It is quite exhausting to find something different that everyone else is not overhyping. That’s where we come in, allow us to do the tedious work for you.

All you got to do is read, listen, and enjoy! So without further delay, we now present the 7 Day Forecast!

ActivePoet & Slvmm - Shining Spree (Release Date: 6/11/22)

Kicking it off this week, we got some of the Shark Tank’s finest. ActivePoet teams up with producer Slvmm for this underdog anthem titled “Shining Spree.” This one is for those who really believe in theirselves before anyone else caught on. Active shares his experience on his pursuit of artistry. The hate he got, odds stacked against him, finding ways to thrive, and through it all being able to be proud of himself for it. This lifestyle is not for anyone. Often times, people quit before things start to even work out slightly. Active never slept on himself and now is comfortable with who he is as a person and artist. No one can knock him off his stance on the upper echelon of the vision. With all the groundwork, starting to pay off with a stable foundation he built up, Active is here making the art he wants to make. This song is perfect for anyone who has been working hard towards a goal of theirs.

If you’re on your own shining spree then follow ActivePoet right here and be ready for more!

Bozzy & Sequoyah Fox - All I Know (Release Date: 6/7/22)

On to the next, we have a new visual release from the artist known as Bozzy! A special record titled “All I Know” featuring Sequoyah Fox that really knows how to pull the emotions out of you. The contrast of these two artists creates a unique composition that you do not see too often in 2022. The pain in both voices of the artists resonates with you on every listen. Often invoking physical responses, in the form of chills and watery eyes. There’s many moments in personal experiences that the lyrics and sonics of this record pull me back to. It’s a nostalgic blend of the alternative, pop punk, acoustic sounds from my adolescent years, blended with the experience and knowing of the years that followed after. This song feels like a more mature version of the naive, innocent hearted emotions that began to develop at an important time in life. Often bringing me to an existential crossroad of what you can and can’t control in your relationships as you wander the path of life. I digress, this song is crucial and deserves an ear if you have not already.

If you feel anything at all in your life, you may want to tap in and follow Bozzy right here! Keep an eye out for more amazing tunes.

Dashawn Jordan - WYGDBI (Release Date: 5/29/22)

Next up, we got a professional skateboarder up on deck (no pun intended). Dashawn Jordan has been on the literal grind for many years. In the last year, he has had a few tricks up his sleeves on the business side. Aside from being a full time professional, he as opened up a skate shop in Arizone, a recording studio in LA, filmed for his own skate videos, and even skated in the Olympics. The man is all work ethic and that translates to his music. Sharing his perspective on life and the mind state behind it that got him to achieve all these things in only 25 years of life. You might be able to learn a thing or two from Dashawn, as a skateboarder, rapper. or overall business man. It was a surprising listen to discover that this pro athlete actually dabbles on the music side of creativity. We are here for it and looking forward to see this venture blow up for Dashawn Jordan, the music artist.

Are you familiar with Dashawn’s accolades as a skateboarder? If not, follow him here and be ready for a multitude of releases coming from the man himself.

Trizzy & Yung Astro - 1 A.M. (Release Date: 6/10/22)

Continuing the vibes, we have Trizzy and Young Astro with their most recent collaboration titled “1 A.M.” from the project ‘Let’s Take a Tripp’ by Trizzy that came out earlier in the year. A night time drive type of record, much like the title, is perfect for when you need t get out the house and clear your mind. The cadences and lyrical footwork from both artists make this record fun and infectious. Although the song is fitting and modern in sound, some of the deliveries and production used reminds me of the era of 2016 when that spacey, trance like sound was really shining. Therefore, bringing a great sense of nostalgia and a longing for the memories associated with those times to come back. This is the WW first encounter with Trizzy’s music and we are liking what we are hearing!

If you are picking up on the vibrations on this one, then tap in with the artist here and be ready for the wave.

Pricey - Keeping It In (Release Date: 6/11/22)

Up next we got Pricey, representing for the 916. The Sac Town spitter is back with a new visual for his track “Keeping It In.” The song is a raw telling of stories experience, seen, or heard by Pricey where he grew up at. The raw honesty and “tell it like it is” vibes that this song has to offer is a strong quality. Very vivid in the telling of his perspective, Pricey does a great job of making a picture out of his words. The aesthetic of his visuals fits the tone of his bars, a product of the streets that he may or may not have had a choice to participate in. When dealing with what Pricey has had to deal with, you can’t be too trusting or kind to people who don’t have that same moral ground as you. Unfortunately, trust can only be found within yourself when in these types of settings. It’s small circle if you can find someone to trust, otherwise, it’s everyone for themselves. So you might as well keep it all to yourself and not let anyone else get one over on you.

If you are rocking with this track, catch Pricey opening up for EBK YoungJoc at the OakRoom Reno on July 2nd. Be sure to follow him right here and stay tuned!

Young Arima - Drop It (Release Date: 6/9/22)

Continuing the week’s vibe, we have Young Arima and his latest single “Drop It.” The aesthetic rap, lofi-anime influenced artist provides a niche sound that has being growing in popularity as of recently online. This one is special as he blends more of his own style with the influence of the world he draws inspiration for. The beat itself has an interesting flip of a known J-Pop record. It is dope to see Arima blend all his passions together and explore the capabilities of his creative endeavors. Finding new pockets of delivery, clearly articulated lyrics, and experimenting with a variety of vocal inflections. This record feels the most authentic to the Young Arima sound. We are very intrigued to see where this artist takes it next.

If you are interested in what Young Arima is doing with his craft, tune in with him right here!

Luck Pida - Change (Release Date: 5/24/22)

Wrapping up the week's highlights, we have Luck Pida with his latest visual for the track “Change” produced by RayBeatz and Duse Beatz. The Reno Representative has been putting in work for the city for a long time, perhaps one of the first to be on the WW radar since 2011. Despite some legal troubles and minor setbacks, Luck is back to the music hustle and isn’t slowing down anytime soon. He knows what goes into the game and what he has to do moving forward. Changing for the better is all it is, the simple shift in perspective to make sure he never takes a step back. Luck Pida shares the wisdom picked up along the way with listeners to share the game. Luck is no stranger to the streets but he’s on to bigger and better things. With more focus, drive, and a new lease on life Luck Pida is ready to put his head down and work! We are happy to see the man active again and recommend y’all tap in with the music! A true staple in the Reno, NV music scene. All respect due to an OG in our region’s music culture.

If you are rocking with the Pida representative, be sure to follow him right here!
