OG David James - Came 4 This featuring D’Money Turn Up (Official Audio)

What’s good y’all? Halfway through the work week and today’s vibe is brought to you by the original David James himself. Last Friday, July 9th, he released this gem out the vault titled “Came 4 This.” David switches it up a bit on this release and recruits Texas based artist, D’Money Turn Up. A right on time release perfect for any function, last minute trip, or day at the lake. Nothing sounds more like summer than loud music. Allow this record to be your next heater on that Bluetooth speaker.

“One two three four five shots, I’m fucked up. I rock by myself, I can’t trust em. Last year I was down on my ass though. This year we gon’ get what we came for.. came for.. I came for this.”

In between working and lacing these verses you might catch David letting loose once in a while. Sitting back and thinking about the things he’s gone through can be heavy. When you finally make it out the lowest point of the valley, the view from above can be bitter sweet. It’s a trip cause you didn’t think you would ever be there. Everyday is a blessing and a reason to celebrate. Instead of dwelling on trauma, focus on the possibilities of how much further you can take it. Acknowledge the victories when they matter and learn from the mistakes made. There’s no better gift than the present and David lives in the moment. Why wait when we can live it up now? Patience is a virtue but we don’t got time to wait for no one. They can take anyway everything from you except for memories, so make as many as you can. David knows this well.

“Cruising through the city, what’s the play? What’s the plan? Call an audible, I got a bottle though. I got a bottle of a new drank and you know I’m sipping by the rocks though.”

Its been summer and we officially into the thick of it. After the last year we had, there’s a lot to celebrate. So call up your day ones, get the drank, provide the smoke, and secure a spot. If it’s anywhere that David is stepping out for, then it better be a god damn vibe. The circle might be small but David keeps them close. In his personal life and with the music. David passes it off to, frequent collaborator, D’Money Turn Up for the closing verse. Who takes the torch and runs with it. High energy to take the function up another notch. Speaking on the lifestyle he and David are involved in. Packed shows, impromptu studio sessions, and networking with those who share a common goal. Although they might not be at their desired destination, they are living out their dreams. Touching lives and making connections all off the strength of music. Inspiration is what underdog artists provide best. These two come hungry and give us constant gems with every line. D’Money with all the quotables, got me thinking about copping some Seagram’s and drinking isn’t even my thing. That’s how infectious the good vibes are.

The chemistry is unmatched, the melodies on point, and the knock is properly executed production. The replay value on this record is of a high appeal. In this day in age, it’s hard to make a 4 minute song feel like a 2 minute record on loop. Fuck around and let it play a few times without a second thought. If anyone has ambition and doesn’t get the recognition, just know that you do it for yourself. You are to be proud of yourself, only you know what you’ve accomplished or endured. So play this if you’re ever questioning why you’re chasing that goal and you’ll find the motivation to take it to the next level.
