What’s good y’all? This Thursday’s forecast comes to us due to some windy skies. With the warm weather, it’s only appropriate a new project falling from the sky, by Savybalboa, lands. The previous Sunday, we saw the release of the third installment of the First Class series, “Turbulence.” The longest of the series and some of the best collection of textbook Savybalboa. Let’s get into the quick track by track breakdown for this EP. Passengers, I recommend you strap that seatbelt for this one.
The first track comes in with a bang, with another classic Savy freestyle track. The crisp vocals over the exotic sounding beat are a key characteristic of the short but addicting freestyles. Although the song isn’t a concept based record, Savy does an excellent job painting the picture for the day in the life of a fly guy. Speaking on his come up and things he faced growing up. Bringing Real Reno mentality to a new light. Making his city look and sound good by representing it in his music. The punchlines towards the second half of record really turn up, providing plenty of good quotable material. “7-75, gimme racks.” Don’t sleep on this one and listen quick or you might miss a gem.
The second record changes the tempo a bit for “Rollin Stone.” A smooth record with a familiar sample. The synthesizer used in the beat reminds me of something that can be found in a Roy Ayers record. A soulful sample that invokes nostalgia upon first listen. Making plenty of references to songs of the 00’s, the influences are incorporated in a clever way. Savy speaks on his character and the things that shaped his morals. Regardless of the negative influences that have crossed his path, Savy persevered and broke the cycles he was predisposed to be caught in. Making excuses for himself is something Savy can’t do. Use his lessons to help keep your head straight. A lot of wisdom shared in this record.
Listen, J War in the Kitchen! 🗣 For track 3 Savy is on ventilation mode and is looking to release the pain. Over the years, the trauma of losing family and close friends has solidified something in him. Perhaps to the point to where it can conflict with external stimuli but he recognizes and acknowledges being stuck in his ways. However you want to slice it, it’s working for him. Struggle builds character and he’s got plenty of it. Standing by every word he says and loyal to his loved ones no matter what. The family might be concerned about him but he keeps his head on a swivel. After losing someone considered a brother, it makes you think differently about how you move. He can’t stop everything about the lifestyle but he can move like he’s important because he is to the people around him.
Savy links up with DatBoyGood again for another gem. Once again, sharing sentiments to learn by and gain a little perspective through Savy’s words. Call it hard headed but whatever Sav gets into, he’s going to approach it with ten toes down. The results of the path taken are to be accepted easily. Even when it’s unfavorable, you remain strong. It’s the only way to not dwell on former pain to prevent the corruption of ones own spirit. He puts it into perspective, speaking on incarcerated family. He has loved ones going through things and it’s something he saw his whole life ever since childhood. To carry strength for his people is all he knows. No matter what happened, Sav always collected his blessings and acknowledging them helps keep him sane. Things have been better these days and the lessons learned are serving him well.
In this record, Savybalboa recruits LaDontrae for a smooth vibe on expressing gratitude in this life. “I had to change up my demeanor. Every night I was fighting demons.” Over time the scars we collect can bring up the same feelings that occurred when the wounds were fresh. To be consumed by the things you couldn’t control is easy. Every now and then you got to get yourself in check. By obsessing over every little setback it takes away focus on the upcoming opportunities ahead of you. Sometimes a shift in perspective can literally turn your life around. Now that your head is back on straight, you are ready to get back in the fold. After Sav kicks wisdom to the listeners, LaDontrae takes it away to close the record with a silky serenade.
Savybalboa took me back with a name I haven’t heard in years, Kellz. Perhaps 2015-2016 I was hearing stories about the Reno based artist from a good friend. It was dope to see the growth from the initial introduction. The two link up to mesh their distinct styles and create a sound exclusive to Reno. Taking over the hook, Kellz tosses up the rock for Sav to slam it in with a heavy verse. Briefly going back and forth on the instrumental, the two fusion danced with the different styles to cohesively weave across the track. The chemistry displayed by the duo has me thinking a collab project would be proper. Both artists provide the vibes to motivate the highest level of hustler possible. If playing this does not make you want to get up and get it, nothing else will.
Saving the best for last, Savy hits the listeners with proper AUX cord ammunition. The beat immediately hooks you in, J War in the Kitchen does his thing. Do I hear the David Banner sample? Bringing back gold from the 00’s classic with that 2021 twist. Between that and the interpolation of Webbie’s “Independent” in the hook, my mind was tripping down memory lane. Creating a full on movie for this one, Savy hits the lot with his day ones. Fly shit only. Strictly exotic: weed, women, and whips. Savybalboa paints a picture of all the perks that come with this rap shit. Not everyone is built for this but the ones who can relate will definitely feel what Savy has to say. The @DreampilotFilms production shows Savy enjoying some classic better living. The perfect song to put on when you’re feeling yourself. See what Sav grabs the keys to and who he’s riding with. BBK Pe$o - Why/Talk About It (Official Music Video)
What’s good everybody? You’re tuned in with the weather watcher and today’s forecast comes from BBK Pe$0, one of Reno’s upcoming artists. On July 14th, the 19 year old MC dropped a new music video for a 2-in-1 song exclusively available on his YouTube channel titled “Why / Talk About It.” The video was directed by WithTheVisuals’ own Alfred León. The song is only a small glimpse of the versatility BBK Pe$o has when it comes to his realm of creativity. The two records contrast each other very well and makes it so there’s something that different types of listeners could gravitate to. Without having to try very hard, BBK Pe$o simply does his thing. It just happens to come out hard as fuck. Let’s run it up.
Why
This is a very fun record, although short, it starts off with a lot of momentum. The light hearted, hi-hat filled beat provides plenty of room for BBK Pe$o to layer his vocals with autotune melody based ad-libs. Pe$o tells a tune of a having to walk away from the ladies who fall for him. Although he’s here now, he can’t guarantee he’ll stay. BBK is trying to make his way. So with growth comes distance, so it’s better not to get attached now. If you’re with it then it’s cool but don’t get your hopes up for anything more. Pe$o is a young rolling stone and isn’t planning on settling down anytime soon. Despite the disappointing news for the ladies, this song provides a good energy for staying motivated. Even part of the chorus is brought to life in the video alongside a contagious little dance move. “Throw it away, throw it away.” A perfect opportunity to get listeners involved on social media and propel the push of this record’s reach. Hopefully a digital platform appearance soon will allow more folks to stream this song. If there’s anything you should take away from this record, is that BBK Pe$o got style.
Talk About It
For the switch up, the vibe takes a darker route (sonically and literally) with the cryptic sounding beat and grey-scale film footage. Located at night, BBK can be found at a dimly lit basketball court surrounded by his folks similar to the first half of the video. This time he’s speaking on the opposite of the love he receives from the opposite sex. Touching on the topic of the dude’s hating on his wave because of the love he gets. A lot of people may have something to say or even threats but if they aren’t acting them then Pe$o isn’t tripping. Envy and jealously is nothing new. It can make old friends into enemies or even upset people who know nothing about you. Either way, Pe$o is not with the fuck shit and let’s it be known what it is to the people who don’t like it. Still melodic in a way, this one is centered around the bars and the heat coming behind the pen. Sending off warning shots to anyone thinking Pe$o is just an R&B singer. He can get with the rap shit if it comes down to it. He’ll make you look bad too if you really want to get competitive. You can even try to copy his style and still wouldn’t be able to do it like him. Worst of all, he probably can take your bitch and son you with the music shit if you think it’s that easy to do what he does. No one is immune to it either, even haters that are female can get roasted on for trying to speak on his name. Instead of trying to avoid the problem, Pe$o is going to press the issue and talk about it.

What’s good everybody? Today’s forecast comes in on the smooth tip with the latest visual release from Lil Uce out of the 775. The October 2020 release, “Conceited” is getting the Full Price Media treatment to remind listeners of Lil Uce’s ability to put together a Billboard worthy record. The Reno based artist paints a picture to tell his story about former flames. Nothing sentimental as he’s had many before. He’s focused on his goals, no time for relationships but that does not mean he does not have any fun. If she’s seen with Lil Uce then that means she expects the same.
The, Julius Tanks directed, video starts off with Lil Uce telling the homie about a shorty he met the other day. One to remember for sure as he was able to pull the girl, who was baddest he seen in a minute. As his brief story comes to an end, he realizes that he has to be at work. The video then cuts to a seen of Uce working the bar at his job. Although it seems to be a regular day outside the music, Uce has something on his mind. The shots focusing on Uce gives off the perception of him reflecting on something. Surely it’s later on when he finally gets to link up with ol girl. When she’s a vibe and she’s feeling your vibe, that shit just hits different. With something to look forward, Uce’s day goes by quick and is off the clock in no time.
In the verse, Uce sets the scenario and describes the plans for when he does get to link with the mystery woman. She lets him know when and where she wants it. He just obliges, letting it be known there’s no more interest to make it deeper than a sneaky link. Love complicates a good thing, especially when you’re on the mission. Everyone needs that relief now and then but sharing a life with another isn’t the move for Uce. So if she only wants something physical, cause she knows she’s bad enough to not be held down, then point them out to Uce. He got exactly what they asking for. In the video, with this in mind, Uce links back with the homie. Posting up in the whip and just killing time. Until it’s time for Uce to pull off and get into what he needs to. The song definitely will you think of someone that makes you feel the same way. Whether you at the cookout or on demon time, play this for the soundtrack.

What’s good y’all? Friday night, going into Saturday, is perfect for time to reflect on the day, your personal situation, or even your love life. All of which can be complex and trying of your own tolerance. It’s already a one handed juggle trying to stay afloat these days, add relationships and emotional clash to really top it off. Bozzy takes a moment to paint the visual for anyone who may be feeling overwhelmed with matters of the heart.
The visuals accompanied by the song, on all platforms, are for his latest single “Tight Rope.” The For//You Production brings it all to life for the viewer to digest. A truly impressive feat.

The video consists of Bozzy spending thought with himself and his thoughts. Taking the well needed time everyone deserves to find themselves again. Investing so much time and energy into another person can be draining. Especially if the investment isn’t wise to begin with. Hearing one thing, seeing another, hearing a new thing, and then acting like nothing was seen nor heard is a short game played. It’s not long until you begin to notice the patterns and start to question if this person just settling in this situation. It’s obvious that it’s difficult for them to appear just as happy as you. What exactly are you trying to maintain to fool me into thinking I’m “it” for you. The lingering pit in your stomach drug along in suspense can corrupt your thoughts hastily. It’s best to be up front and find out what’s the reason for the “hot then cold” treatment

Its understood that trauma plays a factor but it’s up to that person to accept that responsibility. It is no one’s job to pick up the pieces destroyed by someone else. Communication in the slightest of ways goes a long way. If everyone was open from the jump about their headspace, then compromise could be easily found. Transparency in every way possible is important to avoid resentment and pent up annoyance. Take it upon yourself to offer that Avenue to acknowledge each other’s unsavory treatment and how it makes you feel. If then a connection can not be found, it’s best to remove yourself of that attachment. The one that binds your spirit to suffering.

It can drive you crazy when the other person seems to be more okay without you than you are without them. If that’s the case, then good for you. Your worth is so much more valuable and can be appraised higher than you once thought after finding the liberation. In the video, things start to look up for Bozzy as he realizes he’ll be good on his own. Don’t be too worried, if Bozzy can make it through a romantic turmoil and still retain self love then you can too. Allow yourself to feel the record as opposed to hearing it. I wouldn’t doubt if it doesn’t make you think of something you have felt before.

Lil Traffic - Mystery Drank (Official Audio)
What’s good y’all? The forecast on this thirsty Thursday is 100% chance of precipitation with Lil Traffic’s “Mystery Drank.” About a week since it’s release, sitting with this record in rotation only reminded me of how dope Lil Traffic is. It’s been a little over 5 years since the No town spitter popped up on my radar. The work ethic has never changed and was killing shows as an opening act for many dope artists. The simple, whimsical flow of his hooks have me convinced that Traffic speaks from the heart. Nothing he says feels forced or from a place of over thinking. A natural creative, Traffic does his thing over spacey, hard hitting instrumentation.
“It’s a mystery, what’s in my drank? No more misery, got a full tank.”
Lil Traffic brings a certain texture to a track with his vocals. The distinct vocal inflections and cadence that is catchy but unpredictable. It’s easy to get lost into the song when Traffic starts up with his hooks but you never know where he’s going to take it next. The first verse comes in with a style unlike any other out right now. Traffic is in his bag and finds a comfortable pocket to ride the beat flawlessly. The lyrics aren’t overtly simplistic but are laced together with the appearance of ease. Regardless of the verse’s contents, Traffic makes it sound good. When it comes to being in his element, Traffic might partake in his go to vices. Whether it be what’s in his cup or whoever he’s taking home for the night.

Traffic has been living life, finding inspiration as it finds him through experiences. Being himself is all he can do and expressing that in any form he can. The style he brings into his look, sound, and ideas cause people to notice. Perhaps the attention of those who may have been sleeping on him before. Regardless of what they thought of him before, their opinions the last thing on his mind. He’s focused on growth and improving to level up. It’s not necessarily what’s on him but what’s in him. He can’t help if being a jiggy dude has the bitches looking now. He doesn’t fall for their mind tricks though, he’s privy to how the game goes. They choosing up but he isn’t falling for the fake love. Staying focused and in his lane may hurt some feelings. Although it’s nothing personal, he’s not responsible for the idea of him that you have in your mind. The only thing that has changed is how you see him.

Traffic is used to the users and sees people for what their intentions are. In the life style, you have to be able to detect energy and see through others when it matters to protect your own. Traffic has his head right and in a better place to remain motivated. Instead of dwelling on the growing pains, Traffic leaves it in the bottom of his cup. Twisting up his worries and exhaling with ease before passing it to a bad one. This the life he chose and is accustomed to it. Every Lil Traffic song is an experience and takes you into his world every time. This one is too special and will be in your rotation for years to come.
