STEVIE - Genuine (Official Music Video)

What’s good y’all? Thursday night vibes coming in smooth with the latest visuals from STEVIE titled “Genuine.” This visual treatment for his single is produced by WithTheVisuals and directed by @AlfredxLeon. The artist formerly known as Steven Jame$, recently switched up the moniker over the last year. This song serves as his first solo release since last year’s BURN album (stream down below). Released on June 19th, 2021, the song touches on the topic of people who been holding him down and just being himself, unapologetically. Stevie has been grinding for years and building up a loyal following out of his city. This record serves a good snapshot of how he’s been feeling in his mind.

“Where my day ones? Finna stack it all. I’m the only one you know that’s genuine. And shorty looking good, no, I can’t pass it up. Tryna let them know that you ain’t average huh?”

Stevie comes in with a smooth little melody over a trance inducing rhythm that provides an infectious bounce. Depicting him cruising through the night and how it is these days when moving around the city. Whether it be the women who are taking notice of who he is or who they think he is. You are never really sure with people who are watching from the outside. The love from anyone can be misleading and its hard to tell with them. Stevie remains weary and is two steps ahead of them. He knows his worth and isn’t going to let someone unsure of themselves make him feel a certain way. He takes notice to the haters but if they aren’t going to do something about it then it’s water under the bridge. Regardless of who is messing with him or not, it is what it is, Stevie is going to keep it pushing.

The song comes in on the shorter side at the 2:27 minutes mark but easy to get lost in. You may just find yourself replaying this one multiple times. The video itself is well done and captures the essence of the record. Highlighting Stevie in his element, without a big group of people. You get the vibe that Stevie likes to keep a small but tight circle. For those who can relate with not compromising on your value, this record might just hit home. I know there were quite a few one liners that stuck with me. Shoutout to WithTheVisuals for the execution and Stevie for the dope record. Give the artist a follow and stay tuned for more.

Mak Avina - Pick Up Tha Phone Featuring Junii (Official Audio)

What’s good everyone? We back with the Thursday morning vibes. It’s summer and the nights are getting shorter but that doesn’t stop us from staying up all through it. For a variety of reasons, we lose our sleep. Whether it be for work, fun times, or stress. Despite the reason, everyone finds that reason to procrastinate on some rest. It’s summer, we need all the time we can get. Today’s song comes from Mak Avina who speaks on the latter of our reasons for losing sleep. For this record, he taps in with Junii who compliments Mak’s side of the story on the hook.

“You gotta know when to trust me, all this talking that we doing ain’t for nothing.”

When you find yourself beating yourself up for choices that didn’t work out or mistakes you made; it’s easy to shut those out. You may feel they don’t deserve to have someone like you deal with them. Some people may oblige and lead you to believe that you have no one to run to. That’s not always the case, Kendrick said it best “we love people who hurt us, hurt people who love us.” When we make up something in our minds, it can be hard to change it. Significant others, or just people who are starting to open up to you, are the ones who get the worst side of us. When you have someone accepting of you, they are willing to take it all. The good side and the bad side. Imagine, someone out there is willing to be your emotional dumping ground without judgment. That’s a rare, beautiful thing to come by.

So much so, that it’s intimidating when we do come across it. Both parties have their needs and learning them can be a battle. All the things we go through and how we internalize them affects our relationships. Where our heads are at kind of leads your heart if left unchecked. Sometimes just not speaking on the feelings and enjoying each other’s company is the easy. When it comes to meeting in the middle, tensions flared and egos come to a head. Some people don’t clash but that’s not the case.

Mak tells an excellent story about his internal struggles and how his loved ones have been affected by it. If you find yourself up at night because of another person, then maybe you can resonate with this record. He gets vulnerable and honest about the things he feels he should himself accountable for. Guarantee there is something in here, from Mak or Junii’s perspectives, that you can relate to. Not to mention this song is smooth and addictive. If you aren’t battling in the war of love, you can still enjoy this record. The smooth R&B vibes are modern, yet hypnotizing. Reminds me of something from the new wave of R&B a few years back. With their own twist of course.

Give this a record a listen and share your thoughts with us on IG. Give Mak Avina a follow and stay tuned for more music.

Christopher Tapia - Fade Away (Official Audio)

What’s good everyone? Summer is officially here and we are in for a treat from the Reno, NV scene. Today’s vibe is provided by house producer Christopher Tapia with his most recent single “Fade Away.” Released on June 7th, 2021. This one right here is perfect for a morning get up and go. It’s been about 7-8 years since Christopher began his journey into DJing and music production, mainly electronic. Fast forward to today and you have a skilled producer who does more than make a beat, he knows how to structure a song.

“Fly away, to the edge of space. Fly away, without a trace. Don’t let it change, fly away. Let’s fade away.”

Although the lyrics are minimal, the instrumentation is vibrant and full of life. Having spent many trips through the cloudy skies (if you know what I mean) with this record and find it to be quite therapeutic. Sometimes life brings upon worry, uncertainty, stress and doubt. Regardless of your lifestyle, it all comes with its hurdles. It can consume you over time and become overbearing. The lyrics in this tranquil but heavy hitting bass filled record serve as a mantra. Reminding the listener to let go and trust that the universe will have the best in store for you.

It’s simple, yet telling of how easy it is to forget the important things in life. We worry about work, bills, and statuses when we were put on earth to simply walk around eating fruit and procreating. Whatever you got going on, don’t forget that it’s not worth your sanity. So find a way to cope and reset your mind. Get in touch with the inner working of your mind, learn to step outside your conscience and observe yourself. You can play this song to help. It’s addictive and enjoyable.

Usually Christopher collaborates with a vocalist on records, this is the first time seeing a solo performance. Christopher provides the vocals on this hypnotizing song. An excellent performance and definitely looking forward to more vocals from him.

Be sure to follow Christopher Tapia down below and stay tuned from more by this young creative.

ZP Ratik - Wrong Direction (Early Access w/ Lyrics)

IMG-7734.jpg

What’s good everyone? This week we have a treat from ZP Ratik. The Reno, NV artist sent The Weather Watcher an early preview of his upcoming single “Wrong Direction” which drops Friday, June 18th (that’s tonight 9pm PST). Although this record is not quite released (at the time of this writing), it is definitely one to get ready for. ZP has been blessing his fans with nonstop music all of the first half of 2021.

In this single, ZP addresses the doubters and haters who do not respect the grind. ZP has accomplished a lot in the last couple years as an independent artists. He notices the people who are changing around him. More people are coming around and trying to show fake love. He stays weary of those who weren’t there since day 1. Now that things are panning out and his growth is evident, people want to borrow from that. The users, who only want what you can do for them.

They notice the ground work that you set and laid out for them to benefit off of it. If you don’t cut these people off and give them access to you then you’ll quickly diminish. ZP has come far in his journey and is recognizing his worth. Now that he respects his value, his price and expectations are elevated. This translates to the relationships in his life. He is not perfect but he is no longer compromising. Kendrick said it best, “I can’t fake humble just cause your ass is insecure.”

ZP talks that big shit cause he can back it up with this rap shit. Another perfect record for those who are dedicated on their craft and focused on their path. They don’t make too many life ZP in this world. The internal and external conflicts that come with this lifestyle can take its toll. However, ZP has been the type to bounce back and roll with any punches thrown at him. Take notes and read the lyrics from his upcoming single down below. Give them a read and learn about where ZP Ratik is at in his life. Don’t forget to click the button under the lyrics for the Pre-Save links to Spotify and Apple Music.

Big shoutout and thank you to ZP Ratik for giving permission to share the lyrics. Now that you heard the WW interpretation of the song, learn the lyrics for this Friday’s release. Your imagination can do the rest.

Be sure to stay tuned to The Weather Watcher for the release of this record. Let us know your thoughts on the sneak peek at the lyrics for it. You can also expect a music video for this song to be coming out sometime on the 18th on ZP Ratik’s platforms. Give him a follow and support the grind.

(Hook 2x)

I don’t want wrong direction, I don’t wanna fail today.

I wanna be somebody, I wanna mean something.

I got bills to pay, and I got things to say.

I don’t want wrong direction, I don’t wanna fail today.

(Verse One)

Another day another dollar.

Tired of waking with problems.

I’ve been shaky and nauseous.

Share all the favors and profit.

Just to be judged and told I should stop it.

I don’t know why they be talking.

When I’ve been doing most of the walking.

I gotta constantly listen to nonsense.

I look around but I’m seeing no contest.

Why would I listen to someone who’s done less?

Or sacrifice sleep just to work less.

I got nobody to impress.

But I’m working like opinions mean shit.

Anybody could jump ship.

I’ve felt alone since the jump bitch.

I got way more to get done quick.

So I ain’t using my funds for no fun shit.

[Hook Repeats]

(Verse Two)

I wanna get all my paper up.

Bleed for that shit like a paper cut.

These rappers weaker than paper cups.

They ain’t did shit but want favors, huh?

I don’t care if you my neighbor, naw.

It’s all for my own and the people I got.

Pardon my tone, I ain’t sleeping a lot.

Either writing these songs or I’m lost in my thoughts.

Guarding my soul, I’ve been hurt like a lot. I hurt like a lot

Of people that gave me they number 1 spot.

I’m sorry, forgive you returning the favor, I got what I got.

In my life, I’ve been lost but I never exhaust.

And I’ve seen what I’m not,

with my stomach in knots.

I’ve taken each shot, like if I were to miss.

Then it’s not gonna pop, not gonna pop.

[Hook Repeats]

Bozzy & Young Presley - Up We Go (Official Music Video)

Up all night, sleep all day. We only party drinking, we only party drinking. We up so high like an eagle. Tickets to ride like The Beatles. This is our song for our people. We up so high, yeah, we go. Up we go!
— Young Presley (Up We Go)

What’s good y’all? We half way through June and the first day of Summer is just about here. With good weather, comes the good times. What better way to spend your day than soaking up some Vitamin D with your folks and cracking some cold ones. After this last year of uncertainty and setbacks, some people are finally reclaiming their own sense of preferred normalcy. With all this exciting momentum of bouncing back, we are due for a plethora of good records to soundtrack the days of our lives. Up to bat today is Bozzy and Young Presley with a new visual for their song “Up We Go.”

The video starts off with the aftermath of Bozzy and Presley’s summer turn up with the homies. Special cameos from Stu J the Vamp (you see that trumpet work) and Yvng Curt (cornhole champion), amongst the group of people taking part in the festivities. The two throw a rager in downtown Reno to celebrate the easing of social distance restrictions. Cultivating a positive environment for everyone to reconnect. White Claws, cornhole, beer pong, and more. What else can you want on a summer day? These guys got taste.

“Show out, been a long year since I could step out. Now the whole city bout to get run down cause everyone’s had it up to here. Don’t stop, we rolling. Cruising down West with my friends. Smoking on woods for the essence.”

Bozzy kicks off the record with a celebratory verse, showing his appreciation for being fortunate to make it past the difficult year that everyone faced. It’s the small things that you take for granted until you are no longer able to enjoy them. Being able to relate and reconnect with your loved ones in your community is a blessing. So Bozzy writes a heartfelt verse for those ready to accept the return of good vibes into their loves. All this excitement may cause him to go a little too hard. After all, we navigated through a precarious situation, so why not? Bozzy provides the right energy and hands it off to Young Presley for the hook. Encouraging everyone to turn it up a notch.

The two then move the turn up and have a pool party for verse two where they keep going up. Bozzy complements the upbeat tempo and cadence of the hook with his quick melodic flows. The horns over the beat bring a different type of energy to the record. Everything the two artists say on the record is persuasive and really pulls you into a smile. It’s hard not to lighten up a bit once this is playing, especially when the sun is shining. It’s a way of life, now that they are able to engage again, there’s no slowing them down. Young Presley and Bozzy come together to close out the record out. Play this at any summer function and the good times will follow.

Give both these artists a follow and see what they got in store for us the rest of the summer. You won’t regret it. These guys are connoisseurs of celebration and multi faceted creators. Enjoy the vibes.
