ZP Ratik - Float (Official Music Video) #WeatherArchives

It has been a strong start of 2021 for ZP Ratik with back to back weeks of new music and videos for the whole first quarter. One that really resonated with myself was the record “Float” which had a video that dropped back in January. For months this would be the first song I would listen to in the morning. Something about the cadence in the hook or the lyrical finesse across the verses really just drew inspirations. This song got me through long mornings when I would not be as rested as I could be. The monotony of everyday life was really broken up and my mornings would really be refreshed by this song.

One thing you need to know about ZP Ratik is that he is self sufficient. This song is a celebration of perseverance through all the years of people not really seeing the potential that he knew he always had. It took many years of mastering the craft from being his own engineer, learning how to improve his sonics, and then applying the energy from the booth towards controlling a crowd. The first time I saw ZP perform was in 2016. He was the first opener that I ever saw with their own merchandise booth and team with him. When he hopped on stage, you could have fooled me and said that he was the headlining act. The way the crowd engaged with ZP had me feeling like they were all here to see him. After that, every appearance from ZP that I caught at shows was only a further development of the same observations.

In fact, at a Yung Simmie concert in 2016, ZP was the first and only opening act that I have seen get an encore. The fans were so enamored with ZP’s energy that they began to chant “one more song.” ZP gave them what they wanted and everyone went bananas. It it moments like that, that remind me that the grind has been slow and steady. He has always earned his keep as an artist, so this song really solidifies the lasting impression that he has had on my own life. A true inspiration and the content of his messages come from a real place. The song really speaks for itself. When I hear ZP encourage the listeners to bet on themselves and trust in the process, my thinking reaffirms positive thoughts that water manifestation of growth.

If you can take anything away from this song, it is to lead by example. By doing your due diligence, you will avoid a disservice to yourself. Remember, energy does not go to waste, where you place it will reciprocate.

Go stream Float on all platforms and follow ZP Ratik for more new music soon! Expect something very new from him in the future.

Tre Gold - Lemonade (Official Audio) #WeatherArchives

Isn’t Summer coming up? If that’s the case then I’ll be the first one getting ready for more time in the sun. Although it saw a December 2020 release, I have been waiting for a nice warm day to play this on. The record comes from the Reno based MC named Tre Gold and the song is called “Lemonade.” It really is the simple things in life that make memories so easy to be cherished. Tre Gold always bring a sense of nostalgia with his style that has a classic underground hip hop foundation but with a modern twist. It is just enough to feel like it has been something we have not heard in a long time but still something we have not heard before. Sure enough, you can expect knowledge of some form in his message on any song he releases.

“I wanna see great views with a lady beside me. Showing me how she move with that look in her iris. They cannot do that, the way that I be doing my life. I’m living too fast but living until the day that I die.”

The soothing serenade of the sun’s rays warming up your core and energizing your cells builds up enough serotonin to induce inspiration in one’s mind. This is the type of stimulation that Tre Gold’s substance invokes in listeners. Bringing upon wisdom in a contagious and fun way. A true student of the craft, a real fan first then artist, Tre Gold is. You can hear it in his intentions by the way his songs are put together; making a simple record, more than what it seems. Making a song can be compared to lemonade, sure anyone can do it. There are lots of lemonades on the market but the ones that stand out the most have a recipe that can’t be replicated. This is the case with the contribution that Tre Gold brings to his craft. Go listen to this one and some of his more recent singles, Spotify player of “What I’m Doin” below.

More importantly, play this record when the sun is out. Don’t forget to bring the Lemonade!

BBK Pe$o - Be Up (Official Music Video)

What’s good my peoples? Today has been a smooth ass Sunday, the weather feeling right and had plenty of stops to make. When it comes to vibes appropriate for riding round with the windows down, BBK Pe$o is one to keep in mind. His latest visual treatment was given to the record “Be Up,” which was directed by Alfred Leon of WithTheVisuals production company. As things warm up, the terrain can become more precarious to navigate. Take heed to Pe$o’s advice and watch how you move. If you aren’t up on point then there’s a chance that external stimuli could pull that rug from under you.

Maybe it’s the tree but my intuition has been acting up and has me questioning how everybody around me moves. Aside from being a gram short of paranoid, this song reaffirms the caution that is required to protect your energy from any source that could potentially drain it. Whether that be your location, inner circle, or own actions, making the right moves in all aspects keeps us on our destined course. The life that BBK lives comes with lots of distractions such as troublesome women, users, and anyone that has a problem with a youngin’ living his life the way he sees fit.

No need to worry though, BBK Pe$o has a good perspective and head on his shoulders. The reverb is enough to take you outta this world and bring you into the microcosm of his life. For a brief moment, the listener gets to see it from BBK’s perspective and feeling what it is like to walk in his shoes. Everything from the effects of his vocals to camera presence demonstrate the unique style the artist possesses. The charismatic Pe$0 energy gives off is a testament to the efficiency of his developing star power. A true Reno local favorite, it is dope to see where BBK is taking his sound next. The world next? If you haven’t dug in, then I suggest you do. This one is super clean for any car ride, gathering, session, work day, gym routine, or just about any other occasion where music may be a necessity.

Jay-T - Slept On (Official Music Video)

Happy Sunday everyone, a day not to be slept on. Recharge, refresh, and reset in the way you need to be efficient in your week. Just a few days ago (5/12/2021) Full Price Music Group owner, Jay-T, released a new visual for his track titled “Slept On.” A reminder to anyone that chooses to overlook the work ethic, that he is coming to surpass y’all and not look back twice. A sentiment the weather watcher often feels in real life. To be an underdog is a long but rewarding journey. There’s many times when you come to people, in hopes to partner up or build, but quickly find out that people are not always loyal to the vision. There may be times where people whom you respect look down on your ambitions or do not think much of anything you are passionate about. Jay-T is the type that never let doubters taint his perspective from the very day he decided to commit to his passions. Even when it may seem its not going to pan out or make any momentum, the faith and desire met up with dedication. Now successfully launching a second business endeavor, Full Price Media, Jay-T continues to find a way to make a living through creative outlets.

“I ain’t tired of being slept on. Cause when it comes to the facts, they ain’t working like that. When I’m out, I got my weapon. Cause there’s some n****s that ain’t met me tryna lay a n**** flat.”

Jay-T is reaching that transitional period in his growth where people are starting to see value. It may be hard to forgive or forget about the long days of “no” and being left on read but Jay-T eats all the blows without leaving any chips on his shoulder. He does it for those that love to see him prosper and to distance himself from those who hate that he is not an amateur anymore. Show and prove. By always showing up, they can never count you out. The rate at which you grow is unprecedented because any formula that was not exclusively created by you will never work. Trusting in yourself allows you to pave that path, its the Full Price Way. If Jay-T waited for someone else to help bring his ideas to life, he would not have his platform and community resources available to his home towns, to help bring other artists ideas to life. The proof is in the work, Jay-T talks that big shit because he has fully integrated himself into a business.

A prime example of Full Price vertical integration is in this song. The beat is produced by Jay-T under the moniker JMidi (that’s him). The song is written, or orally curated with out actual writing involved, by Jay-T. The song was record, mixed and mastered at the Full Price Studio (owned and engineered by Jay-T). Last but not least, the visual was directed by Julius Tanks (also, him) and filmed by Full Price Media (yes, you guessed it, owned by Jay-T). No one else needed to be relied on to bring this record to life and that’s not a knock to anyone else. This is 100% motivation that whatever you want to do, or even try, can be done if you just make a plan and take it one step at a time.

The way Jay-T has inspired me through his music and being transparent with his journey, is that the worst thing you can do is not go for it. Previous to launching theweatherwatcher.com, I knew nothing about building websites, making blogs, and articulating the way I digest music into a written format. Talking about music and sharing the endless perspective it brings is something that comes natural. So trusting in that allowed me to bring the Weather Watcher music forecast and coverage to life. I bit the bullet, assessed my budget and resources to invest in a new laptop, domain and license fees amongst many others. Although this may not see immediate return on investment, I have found a new outlet that satisfies an interest I would have never thought I could develop.

So listen to this one many times and think about if you have ever just went for something you really wanted. Not for personal gain or monetization but to nourish your spirit. Do not completely forget though, stay out your feelings and get in your bag! Give this a listen and let us know your thoughts on any of our socials.

Savybalboa - C.H.M.B. (Official Music Video)

What’s good with y’all folks? When it comes to the topic of work, Savybalboa really embodies the word itself. Not too far removed from his last EP and set of visuals, comes the newest visual for “CHMB.” Not to mention, this comes one week before a new Savybalboa EP arrives 5/21/21. This record continues to tell the story of Savy’s grassroots grind, there are not too many upcoming artists that network and maintain connections like Savy does in his city.

For this set of visuals, Savy and the direction team take the cinematic route. In cut scenes, the inspiration from the movie “Set It Off” are depicted. Starting off with a heist scene, bringing the money back, and then shortly after Savy describes the cultural footprint he wants to leave across his hometown. Perhaps even the world when the time is right. For now, until it’s time to play, it’s all about stacking up and investing in the future. The song itself is a natural motivator, regardless of what your area of expertise is you should be able to draw parallels from Savy’s mission to yours.

“You can find me bungee jumping in a bag. I be making plays like I’m John Madden. Hating everyday like that shit practice.”

Verse two gets heavy with the boss talk and accompanies the narrative that the video portrays visually as well as musically. The direction and production of the video were by Dream Pilot Films. Overall, a very creative way to breathe new life into an already solid song. The video is definitely worth replaying a few times if you tryna catch a vibe in any setting. Go listen to the song on YouTube or any streaming platform and stay tuned for more music coming soon from Savybalboa and the FNM x NFL camp.

What more can I say? Let the music, the visuals, your eyes and ears do the rest for you. It’ll be a good time. Don’t believe me, just watch.
