J.Me - Good Good (Dir. by @authentic_henry) [Official Music Video]

Fresh off winning Best R&B for the Ventura County Music Awards, J.Me blessed her fans over the weekend with new visuals. This time around, “Good Good” from the Sad Girl EP gets a visual directed by the talented Authentic Henry. The two connect to bring this record to life in an epic way. Aside from being a high quality production, this song is done justice by the artist, director, the supporting actor and overall crew involved in the set design. I have been listening to this song since the EP dropped and felt like I heard the record for the first time when the visuals came out. Of course, at the surface level, the song is a flat out banger that anyone from any background could resonate with. A big topic that is present in J.Me’s music is one that pertains to the ups and downs of love. All the things that encompass it, as the phenomenon of love is well nuanced. The many facets that contribute to the dynamic of our relationships can be hard to understand. Although what is not understood may be felt, it does not outweigh the satisfaction our soul’s can feel when laying on the right side of the pillow with your significant other. It all comes down to friction, whether it be confrontational or compromising. No one can get under your skin like the one who knows you best. The hurt felt from the one you are most vulnerable with can be some of the worst pain felt. Frustrating enough to make you question your stance on if it’s worth holding on to. However, when tempers subside, you are able to take a step away from the situation. When you’re able to remove all the cons from your queue of thoughts, it leaves you with all the pros to contemplate. If the investments and time spent have been properly sowed, then you will always be able to look forward to the bounty of your harvest. Love scars but Marvin let us know what type of healing best remedies the ailment caused by carnal love. Nothing is better than making up in a way only lover’s can. When you got a special thing, it just hits a little different. All pride aside, I admit my wrongs and forgive yours. We are better than this. I know you feel it too. When words are scarce and understanding is not foreseeable then perhaps body language is all we need to express our feelings. Go watch the video, follow @only_jme on IG, and stream the project! Treazy - FEELINGS (Official Music Video)

Before the summer hits and the weather is feeling just right, Treazy is back with a visual treatment for his latest single titled “Feelings,” produced by Donato. This record takes a different direction than his previous singles. This record travels a little further down the same creative path that last year’s “TBHIDK (feat. ZP Ratik)” took. A record where the ink bleeds with self reflection and assessment. “I thought I could shake this feeling, if I worked hard and I got rich one day, I can’t tell the floor from the ceiling, when you’re upside down and you might feel some way.” Sometimes you set these expectations in your mind. Growing up, there was no way that you weren’t going to figure it out and accomplish your goals. As time slowly increases the rate from which it runs away from us, where you are at and where you were hoping to be may come further unaligned. Consuming yourself with work and passion projects, while leading a full life with others depending on you can be tiring. You may find yourself doing eccentric things to remedy the pensive burdens weighing on your conscience. Your decision making may come into question, although no regrets may be felt, it feels as if a self inflicted wound may have gone long untreated. Whether it be people you let down, wrong paths followed, or a few mistakes tallied up, eventually it will need to be addressed internally. Otherwise you will wake up and ask yourself “what’s the point anymore?” Sometimes doing everything you thought you were supposed to do just is not working for you. That does not mean the road stops there and you can’t get to where you want to be. There’s always time to figure it out. It starts with being able to admit these thoughts we have in life. Treazy takes these feelings that everyone goes through and spins them into a catchy cadence, The feelings we, so desperately, feel we need to avoid and escape. However, one may wonder that if Treazy was intentionally trying to nudge the listener to try to face their own similar feelings. There were many points throughout the song and visuals that connected with moments in my own life. After spending some time with this record, I felt I learned a little something new about myself and the artist who created it. The appreciation for this record should come from the intentions set behind it. It was created with a good spirit and open mind. A true example of an artist righting their wrongs while writing their songs. Give this video a watch, let me know what you thought on the Weather Watcher IG or Twitter. Weather Report (4.23.21): SavyBalboa “First Class: Red Eye” - EP [Review]

IMG-7460.JPG

The air space is clear enough, on these cool April nights, for a quick take off. So roll up, kick your feet up and let captain Savy B hit the skies. The “First Class: Red Eye” - EP is a collection of three contagious songs that, in succession, create an overall experience. Although the project is only three songs, its quick variety of sounds show a glimpse of the different vibes Savy is able to provide. Usually you would not judge a book by its cover but the first impression is the most impactful. In this case, a great amount of detail went into the curation of this EP, the artwork alone gives the listener a lot of details to work with. The script contains a brief message, providing insight to who the FNM collective consists of, in the notes of the flight brochure. The artwork effectively portrays the concept of this EP being your boarding pass for a once in a life time flight. In the project, Savy brings you into his world and effortlessly exhibits his ability to bring his style and its sound to life. The mixing and mastering on the intro track “Fly N***a Freestyle” (which has a music video) immediately hooks you in. It is evident that Sav just hopped in the booth and was comfortably just being himself. Setting the scene of the environment from which he came and visually illustrating the daily habits of a fly guy. A perfect mixture of introspective thought and care free philosophy. The EP then transitions to a chill, bouncier vibe with “Vegan (So fresh, So clean).” Produced by JWar In The Kitchen (@listen.jwar.in.the.kitchen), this record accelerates the momentum on the fly guy raps with a catchy hook paying homage to the legendary duo OutKast. One of the most repeatable records on the EP for sure.

“I smoke veggies, I eat fruits, I think I’m vegan. On the way to Sac then we hit LA for the weekend. OutKast, I’m the freshest, I’m the cleanest. Big waves, I got baby dripping’, Aquafina. So fresh and so clean.” - SavyBalboa (Vegan [So fresh, So clean])

Do not let the hook fool you though, the verse is full with bars nutrient dense with substance. Savy sets the expectation of what is and isn’t tolerated in his presence. Maintaining and protecting the energy of those around him appears to be a top priority for Savy. Good vibes only but the hands stay ready, if needed. As the track concludes, the vibe is resuscitated with the energy of the beat on “I Did That.” The closing record features the Las Vegas based, MMG artist, Yowda. The two come together and really create a unique sound for those who are familiar with the lifestyle they live. Each artist of the different sides of Nevada, the north and the south. The record is celebratory and declarative of both artist’s homes. Between the two, they effectively tell a story from a perspective that many have not heard yet. If Nevada were to have a defined sound (when it came to its Rap/Hip Hop scene) then this project would be a great point of reference. I would hate to create any spoiler moments if you have not given the tape a listen yet. Needless to say, my experience with FNM Airlines was a 5 out of 5. 🌡 Would recommend to a friend. So go listen to these three songs, the project in total is just over 7 minutes. Let me know what you thought of the EP on our IG @theweatherwatcher and Twitter @wwmusicforecast.

Juziah - Essentials (Feat. Larussel) [Official Music Video]

I got everything I need, I got all of my essentials.
So f*** all of these h***, man they really nothing special.
If you tryna kick it we gon’ have to see credentials.
And if you actin up, we’ll knock some sense into yo’ temple.
— Juziah (Essentials)

Juziah is back with another visual for his latest single titled “Essentials.” This time he recruits an artist by the name of Larussel to go in over this soulful instrumental. A fun, bouncy records reflecting on the more simple things in life. You don’t need a whole lot in this life, just the essentials. It is easy to get caught up in the rhythm of beat itself but listen closely you’ll hear enough substance to make run the song back again just to make sure you heard it right. I was pleased with the overall vibe. Juziah remaining consistent since his last video for “06 Throwback” a month ago. This is my introduction to Larussel and was elated by what I heard from the spitter himself. Keep an eye out for both of these guys coming out the Northern Nevada region. Keeping it cool on this nice spring day.
