“For The Love of Hip Hop” Show Recap + Performance from ZP Ratik & Stu J The Vamp

What’s good everyone? We are back for 2022 with some fresh forecast on the region’s best local musical acts. Today’s blog is a quick recap of a Reno, NV local Hip-Hop show, the first of its kind at the venue. To place the setting on the WW experience, let’s take it back to the day of the event. December 22nd, a regular weekday like any other, started with the good old 9-5. For some reason, the news of the show had went under the radar until the day of. Whilst on lunch break, the Weather Watcher IG account notified me that Stu J The Vamp was going live with another artist. It turns out Stu was building his setlist for the show that night, after learning of the show, it became a must attend. It would be my first time seeing him and some of the other acts on the bill.

Fast forward to later that night and arriving to the venue was easy going. The security and ticket keepers at the door were friendly. After making it in the doors, I spent some time on the sparsely occupied dance floor as people were still arriving. Not too longer after, some familiar faces walked in the building. Jimmy Teflon, ZP Ratik, Stu J, Christopher Tapia, and quite a few more WW alumni. After greeting everyone, we vibed to the music. Caught up with ZP Ratik for session to burn a couple while the venue filled up. A successful turn out for an all local act event. The show began with a good energy with the following acts: Harmony Love, Chapter 13, Stu J The Vamp, ZP Ratik, Angela The Herbalist (who also hosted the whole night), and Get Moneyyy Music.

To get a quick glimpse of the night, in sequence, watch the recap video for a special edition of “In The Field” below:

An overall great experience, getting to make introductions with plenty of new artists/creatives in attendance. The place was a great mix of casual listeners, fans of the artists, and friends of those involved in the show. The crowd engagement was perfect for all the acts to pick up on the energy for solid performances. Two of the acts brought up guest acts, which diversified the show itself. See footage from two of the more notable sets down below.

Stu J does his thing with a smooth blend of records he has released throughout the year. Bringing along Jimmy Teflon, $inClar3, and Bozzy for his set. My first time seeing the Vamp live and definitely was nothing short of memorable. I recommend catching a performance from Stu J.

The last set of footage from the night comes from ZP Ratik, who is the most consistent performer I have witnessed. Watch above as he demonstrates poise and confidence on stage. A filling presence that brings everyone around into the experience. If you have been to any type of hip-hop show in the area of Reno, NV then chances are you have seen ZP do his thing. You can tell the stage has become a comfort zone for him over the years. Enjoy some of our favorite clips from his set.

Do not forget to follow with all the artists on their social media accounts at the bottom.
