Bozzy - Catch Me (Official Music Video)

What’s good everyone? The Weather Watcher radar has been collecting all the most essential vibes over on this side. Today’s forecast is courtesy of the Santa Rosa born, Truckee raised, and now Reno staple, Bozzy with his latest visual. The For//You produced video is for his single titled “Catch Me.” Now dropping consistent music is nothing new for the artist known as Bozzy. However, this song marks a milestone in his creative journey. Bozzy takes a musical leap with his artistic sound and introduces acoustics to his long list of versatility. Taking a risk like this, when executed properly, opens up your avenues of exposure to win over listeners who may not other wise stumble into the genres that Bozzy traditionally dabbles in. To say the least, Bozzy does just that. The song is a gem with crucial song writing to make it hit home.

“Catch me before I fall, oh whoa oh. Cause I got another problem and I can’t seem to solve it, no. And it’s knocking at the front door but I’m leaving out the back door. Cause I can’t seem to express, all the weight that’s on my chest.”

Being “right” all the time isn’t right. When trying to communicate, it’s easy to forget that your perception is only the experience you’ve felt. It takes teaching others, and unlearning indiscernible traits that you’ve picked up, to elevate any connection. Easier said than done when you find yourself in the driver seat. At some point in the journey, external stimuli will be thrown your way. Inevitably, these things create wear and tear. The maintenance required to reduce the likelihood of breaking down is never a forethought. Being wrapped up in all the fun of seeing and feeling new things alongside another on your trip is only the surface. The truth is when things start to fall apart rather quickly, you are brought back to every opportunity you had to address the issues. The moment you let one slip through the crack, you initially have introduce yourself to the demise of the union being built between individuals.

“And if I’m being honest, I would’ve made a promise. That I’ll stay right here. Have no fear, take my hand and let me steer.”

When you take the time to hold yourself responsible, you find that everything that felt was out of your control could have been prevented. Granted, would you have not known if this was your first ride? Perhaps you have been on this trip with many people in the past. More often than not, every trip feels like reading an upside map in uncharted territory. The terrain of love is not for the weak or naive. At times, it works out ideally and others may not see the destination before leaving each other on the side of the road. There’s really no guide for how to get to where you want to be in these types of journeys. Sometimes you crash and find yourself unable to put it back all together. There’s nothing else to do but humbly look at yourself and embrace the pain. Acknowledge what your heart yearns for and speak your peace. Don’t force the drive or try to overcorrect yourself as that does not benefit. If you find yourself in the bind of mismatched growth and one takes off over the other, please be kind to yourself.

It could all be so simple, if we could remain on the same page but that’s the part of the story that makes the rest of the book worth finding out what is going to happen next. So to anyone going through the excruciating pain of a love wreck, just know that this is the beginning of your ascension. The tears that are never ending, the abysmal depths of depression, and the lingering remorse of words left unsaid will fade away. There’s no better teacher than humility. Be genuine with your scars for those who have the same as you need to hear it. It serves as a reminder to you and them that things are worth pushing through. Accepting yourself and the shortcomings you have had is the metamorphosis required before becoming yourself again. You can’t learn if mistakes aren’t made but owning up to them in the mirror teaches character. Once you hold yourself accountable, you will be ready to make a new approach and learn how to properly maintain it. Whether it’s with the one you lost or one you have yet to find. You never really know who’s willing to catch you until you really trust yourself to fall.

With a mind full of love and words of sincerity, Bozzy provides a story that many struggle to articulate on a daily basis. Every situation is unique but this right here really encapsulated the feeling of drifting away from the one who really made it all make sense. Without them, you may feel there’s no you. That’s not true at all but there’s no rush in trying to learn what you love about yourself again. Take all the time you need and you’ll thank yourself later.
