dARTh Tone - TMC featuring Smoke Loud (Official Audio)

What’s good everyone? Hope the weekend starts off right for y’all and allows you to do something productive for yourself. Today’s forecast is brought to you by way of Reno, NV. The artist dARTh Tone and Smoke Loud come together for their latest offering titled “TMC.” An emotional record that pays homage to the late Nipsey Hussle and the mentality he left behind to inspire those trying to find their own path. A different but appreciated style from the heavy handed MCs who typically have more aggressive deliveries. The switch up is refreshing and unexpected.

It has been a productive 2021 for Tone and Smoke Loud, dropping multiple tracks and EPs across the two artists. The two have multiple records with each other prior to this release, so the chemistry is perfectly executed on the though provoking message they are sharing. To see both artists in a more honest, vulnerable state really brings listeners in. As a listener, I can feel the everyday hurdles the artist face and try to overcame daily and immediately begin to identify with the feeling. If you are familiar with either artist, then you know that their pen is inspired by real life experiences and written with intent. Without further delay, let’s get into it.

“And no one’s coming to the rescue, everybody’s got their issues. 260 in the rental, got goals I gotta get to. Big money on the menu, gotta hustle like the rent’s due. All the ugly that I went through but the marathon continues.”

Tone kicks off the record with his chorus to set up the scene, life is trying and no matter what happened yesterday that has nothing to do with today. Things happen and that’s that, the extent to which it lasts as source of suffering is controllable. We can never control the things that happen to us or that are destined to happen as that is our path intended. They say the future is the reason why our past played out the way it did. With that in mind, you are not the only one going through it. No one will be able to get through it like you can, when you’re in the driver’s seat there's little advice or help that you can use to get you there. You can succumb the trauma and cease to thrive but that’s counterintuitive to the whole precipice of life.

There’s no safety net or refresh button that helps accelerate the growth process. It’s going to be uncomfortable and sometimes unbearable but you will be better for it after. Take it all with grace and hold your head as you stride into the person you deserve to be. Nothing in life stops but drive and desire, which is all we have internally to keep us going. Tone is no stranger to the ups and downs but he’s not letting it hold him back. He is taking control of his own narrative and humbly speaks to the listeners, his loved ones, and god about what he has come to know over time.

“Just leave the past in the past, you held me down when I was broke and I was down on my ass. Even though I did you wrong, you always gave me a chance. I’m buck eighty in the rental but 160 on dash. I must admit, I was stressing like a bitch. Know the marathon continues, started shit don’t ever end.”

Coming up Smoke Loud knows all about starting off with the short end of the stick. Being disadvantaged early on has its effects and causes you to act out of survival. It may not be rational but you live how you got to and find a way to get by. Over time, it does something to your spirit. It can either ruin your perspective on life or it can make you hungry to see something better for yourself. Luckily for Smoke’s case, he used it as fuel and found a way to make his life more comfortable than it had been in the past. Hardship without motivation is easy at this point, so challenging yourself to demand more from life is less daunting when you have gone without for any period of time.

Staying productive and feeding your spirit with goals that satisfy your own goals, or desires, is the most rewarding part. Small wins are like numbers, they add up. Smoke knows better days are upon him as long as he keeps trusting in himself and following his heart. Things fall in place much more organically when you just do what feel right without expecting a specific outcome. Just picture yourself where you want to be, you will never know what its going to take but you will find yourself there if you focus on it enough. There’s no such thing as wasted energy, just put it in the right places and you’ll be alright.

“I was set in my ways, when you lose a baby brother that’s one hell of a pain. Rode the bench my whole career, wasn’t pressing the lane until I became the coach and put myself in the game. I’m on my bounce back, tell all my doubters I’m doing good. Tip, knock Tone off what he doing. They wish they could, shit.”

Tone has been involved with music for a long time. Perhaps the first time I came across Tone’s music was around 2009 on myspace. That just lets you know how long he has been working on his craft and the growth involved. Along the way, Tone has done soul searching within himself and the company he keeps. Lessons were learned and things happened that didn’t make sense at the time but healing eventually found its way to him. There was a moment where his potential may not have been realized by himself. However, enough people believed in him to where he was able to step outside himself and want to give his craft the same respect that it has garnered from others.

Its a beautiful thing when you stop sleeping on yourself and give yourself credit before you wait for others to give it to you. In Tone’s case, he knew his worth all along but no matter how far he wandered from it, there’s always something intangible to call you back for a reason. He is doing everything in his life, as a man, for himself and the example he wants to set. It doesn’t matter if everything goes as planned or desired, it’s the character building process along the way that matters. We grow through what we go through. So take your lumps, take the time to help, and take aim for whatever is within your trajectory. When it’s all said and done, the only thing that is left is your memory along with the stories of all the dope things you did while here. The lives touched and minds opened by watching you fearlessly go for your hearts’ desires while following your moral code in defiance of what people think of it.

The song itself is a wise conversation waiting to be had with yourself and can tell you a lot about what it means to work on yourself. A personal favorite that is equally catchy as it is informative. Go stream this down below and tap in with two really good MCs who are not afraid to create outside the box. Follow them below and run it up! Stay tuned for more written blogs on the best artists you may not have heard about.. yet!

Mak Aviña - Overseas (Official Audio)

What’s good everybody? We continuing the highlights from our favorites in the region. This time around we tap in with Mak Aviña repping from out in Elko, NV. For 2022, he released his first single of the year with “Overseas” to set the tone off for the year. Taking a bit different approach from his last string of singles, we have come to appreciate the versatility that Mak offers in all his releases. There is something for everyone in his catalog but it comes off effortlessly. You get the sense that Mak is well learned as a student of the game. He has the ability to change his style without compromising his sound. Although none of his singles sound the same, you can tell it is him on the record. Improving in delivery and song structure with every new record.

It has been almost 9 months since stumbling on the Mexico born, Elko raised artist and the growth is apparent in that short amount of time. In between a string of releases, Mak Aviña took his talents on the road for a tour alongside iLL ZakieL, who independently put on the tour across Northern America. Even going as far as Chicago, IL. This only adds to the credibility of the artist and his immediate circle of peers. After seeing some things outside of his home base, his perspective widens on the world and is reflected in this song right here. Without further delay, let’s get into it.

“We can book a flight and take a trip. I can take you to a place you thought you’d never ever see before. Babe you looking fine as it can get. Love it when you walk away but I do hate it when I see you go. I see you when you dressed in confidence with no make up on your face. Even like that you’re looking beautiful.”

It’s rare when you find someone who demands your attention without a request ever being made. Sometimes our eyes fall onto things we thought we could never have or even are worthy of the time. Outside of our minds playing tricks that way, we find our way in the graces of privileged presence and it is to be appreciated when found. It is something to handle with care, knowing that you do not control or dictate this delicate gift, what you do with it in the limited time we have say a lot more than words. They say memories don’t live like people do, they’ll always remember you. At times that is all we are left with, so dedicating time to intimately learn the inner workings of someone’s mind to find out it is just as beautiful as the outside is a blessing.

Mak Avina knows this well and creates a vibe for when faced with the company of a young lovely. It is a wonder how someone who is so stunning can take the time to give you a little of theirs. Do they know that they are worth the world and can have it all? Without all the things that deems them beautiful to society, it’s the spirit inside that is the true blessing. It’s like catching a firefly in a jar, although its not meant to be there forever, it’s a phenomenon regardless and will be something you carry with you in life. In Mak’s case, this may be something personal, yet relevant to his story but worth sharing to those may be able to relate.

“You know how I feel when I don’t have a word to speak, you done kept it real when nobody heard of me. And you get me high like when i’m burning up this weed. This right here your song, I see you turning up to me.”

To lock in and get to know someone is inevitable if you’re going to offer your time to them. However, genuine appreciation, care, and reciprocation is something you get if you are real lucky. You can go your whole life trying to give love to someone who will never understand you. It’s more common than finding someone healthy for your spirit. When you strike gold inside the soul of another, one may assume that it unlocks something deep within yourself that changes your perspective on loyalty and love. One can only dream of achieving a connection such as that. Making the song sound like a dream come true for those who struggle with trust and strengthening bonds with people they love.

The vulnerability being accepted from an external source is a sensation of bliss that can only be compared to an ethereal intoxication. A concoction that Mak has sipped from once or twice in his day. A love so apparent and deep that what is understood doesn’t require anything to be said. Intuitively detecting another person’s way of thinking is peak intimacy. There’s nothing fake about it, it’s so genuine that everything he is passionate about it accepted by this mystery person. An escape in itself that the simile of taking a trip is the only way to tangibly bring the emotion to life.

“I think about you taking me back but it’s too late for that. And when I drop a new track, are you playing it back? I can’t be distracted when there’s all of this paper to stack.”

When chasing this dream that Mak has, time is the biggest sacrifice to be made. As well as in love, time is the most sought after currency when cultivating something deep rooted. So when being torn between the two loves, it causes one to feel neglect. As a go getter, Mak can’t stop his passion or chasing his dream. In fact, his motivation for grinding may subconsciously be to help improve the quality of life for him and his loved one who believed in him so much that he felt he could achieve it. It would be a disservice to him and his path as an artist to not take the chance to find out if it could all be real. However, maybe one day once he reaches what he set out to do, that by small chance, it would allow him the time to give back into his other love.

“I’m a take you on a trip to the other side of the map. I’m a show you what it’s like when you kicking it with the Mak. All this sacrifice is made just to bring in all this cash. Head was in the clouds, you bringing me back.”

Even though making progress and seeing new things due to achieving his goals may be filling his head with confidence, he is grounded by the thought of coming back. Once he passes the barrier, he still wishes to come back for the one who may feel left behind by him sacrificing his efforts to other places. Although physically he was all over trying to make it happen, his heart never left home. Now that he is feeling up, it’s nothing without the person who held you down when you were down. A look into his character and morals, this song is a movie in itself and tells a difficult story of a love torn between two worlds.

Although different in pace, the two can peacefully coexist, deep down Mak knows. Once you have a perspective that develops in time, you find a way to try and make the many parts of you harmoniously exist in balance. Sometimes it takes a getaway to remind you of things for what they really were. Seeing what the world has to offer when a piece of yours isn’t there to experience may not bring the same level of satisfaction. Everything we do is for ourselves but for also the greater benefit of those around us. The song is great point of reflection, much like the view from the window seat of the plane for that one way ticket towards success. To those who can relate and to the artist, may this record help you find ease with trying to hold on to the pieces of you that seem so distant in your mind but inseparable from your heart.

Have you heard this record? It’s a vibe and will be in rotation for a while! Give it a stream below and follow Mak Aviña as well. Stay tuned for the next blog from the region’s most unique talents. Be ready, you may just find your next favorite artist!

$inClar3 - BE SUMN’ (Official Music Video)

What’s good everyone? We back with the continuation of our latest string of highlights from the region. Today we have So-Cal raised, Reno made MC by the name of $inClar3 on the forecast. She’s starting the new year 2022 off strong with her most recent single, on all streaming platforms, titled “Be Sumn’.” A MenyHitz produced record and video by Hallway Empire. This last year has been a significant period of work and growth for $inClar3. Keeping her head down while working on her craft, networking in the music scene, and stacking up a collection of music along with a string of features released.

Finding her signature sound and pockets of delivery, she continually improves the quality of the music and song writing whilst innately incorporating the singing with the rapping. In addition to growing the sound, she has been taking opportunities to showcase her abilities live. My firsthand experience to a $inClar3 performance was nothing short of impressive. You can catch the brief footage, on The Weather Watcher YouTube channel, as part of the Stu J The Vamp Set @ The Bluebird Reno 12.22.21 at the 5:55 min mark. Without further delay, let’s get into the song.

“We all just tryna be sumn’, we all just tryna make it. We all just tryna be a lil sumn’ different but it’s fuck all the faking. So if you wanna be sumn’, you better be yourself..”

There’s nothing but appreciation for a good mantra of motivation. $inClar3 provides the an atmospheric audio the way her cadence cuts into the slump instrumental, in the same way honey mixes with tea. With the perfect setup to get listeners hooked, she starts talking that boss shit immediately. If there’s anything you can put all your energy into and be at most satisfied, its into yourself.

If you don’t work, you don’t eat and you gotta pay like you weigh. Things that $inClar3 has come to understand with her life experience and puts into her lyrics every time. There’s more to her than appearance and that’s what she proudly stand on. She puts herself in position to make traction and to push her craft to new levels. $inClar3 may have felt as an underdog in the past but now that the confidence and craft are matched, she’s ready to let it be known.

“No pain no gain cause thangs just don’t appear. No handouts so this shit took years. Don’t trust no one, real recognize real. I’m an independent bitch, I ain’t making no deals.”

There’s no more sleeping on herself and that’s what matters the most in life. Get knocked down 9 times, get up 10. Take your L’s with grace and move on with gratitude, for next time you will be ready for the next opportunity to arise. There’s never a reason justifiable enough to let anyone else make you feel like you should be anything other than yourself or discourage you from trying to challenge yourself in a new way. Lastly, don’t give up when something you planned falls through, you got to know how to bounce back from it.

Energy does not go to waste, so where you put it matters. If things weren’t going how you wanted them to, then change your approach and find a new way. There’s always chance and choice, so the way you use them in tandem can really get you to where you want to be. $inClar3 is encouraging y’all to get up on game with her as she reaches her goals, she reminds listeners that it’s not only possible for her but for you too.

“You know I got something different. It ain’t hard to see, what separates me from these bitches that was made for the streets. This generation got to thinking it all comes easy until you see the way I’m moving and it ain’t sleazy.”

In verse two, $inClar3 comes with a strong performance that flexes her lyrical ability and flow changes with her melodies. Talking her shit and let’s listeners what she’s about and the way she lives. No matter what people think of her, she takes it with a grain of salt cause she knows who she is. As long as her and her close ones accept her, there’s nothing that can dim her light. She has her own morals and standards to abide by while chasing her dream as an artist. She knows the fake energy it may attract, she is weary and stays clear. Acknowledging the loneliness it may bring but small circles are better for the spirit.

So if you’re genuine and trying to better yourself then you can come kick it. If you are not authentic or got something to stand for, then maybe you would not be able to relate. Whatever it may be, $inClar3 got herself regardless and you’ll see her work ethic getting her closer to where she’s meant to be every day. This right here gets me in the mind to be better today than I was yesterday and better tomorrow than I am today. Add this to your “In My Bag” playlist today, guarantee you’ll make progress.

Zelda - Tendencies Featuring Brooksy (Official Audio)

Zelda — Tendencies (feat. Brooksy) - Single

What’s good everybody? We are entering the beginning of a 7 day Forecast, 7 songs hand selected by WW and requests from IG followers. To kick off the series of song reviews, comes a heavy hitter out of Elko, NV by the name of Zelda. She is back with some new for 2022, dropping off her latest single “Tendencies” featuring Brooksy. Brooksy, another renowned MC in the region, and Zelda cook up a hypnotic, atmospheric vibe with a distinct sound that is very difficult to draw comparisons with anything else. The offering is exciting and telling of the talent pool bubbling in their immediate music scene. Sharpening their pens and focusing on their craft, in a way that can speak for itself in other regions. Coming off a strong 2021, with a string of releases, features, and visual content, Zelda taps into a different side of her persona and lets listeners a bit more into her headspace with this record here. Without further delay, let’s get into the record.

“I feel the force is how they test me. Human condition always been progressing, mental health always been in question. Don’t fuck with the infection, some things are never meant for messing. Somebody gotta do it, so that’s why I keep em guessing. There ain’t no fixing me, I’ll make em see I’m drowning in my tendencies. Think I see it clearly, I been viewing it so differently. Taking back what I said, I wonder if you’re missing me. I don’t wanna go there I can’t help with my transparency.”

Zelda kicks off the song with the first verse. It’s one thing for people to come to know you over time. Every interaction, choice, reward, or outcome contributes to the constantly evolving psyche. The prodding fingers of other people’s energy, forces that be against you, and the revolving windows of opportunity tend to be constantly berating at the subconscious windows of your spirit. Criticisms and judgements placed against you over time can either fuel you or foil you. For Zelda, she plays it the only way she knows how, and that’s for her own intention. The betrayal and letdown felt in her personal endeavors have really cultivated a unique confidence that many wish to achieve. By taking your narrative back from those who think the know you based on who are you used to be, you liberate your true self. Although the starting point may be the same, along the journey there’s been some mismatch in growth amongst her and the relevant parties from her past. Zelda stopped feeding into energy of those holding her back and taking from her own.

Acknowledging her shortcomings but embracing the flaws that come with every living soul on the planet. She proudly wears who she is on her sleeve and is not afraid to call it how she sees it. With no longer worrying about who doesn’t accept her as she is or how she chooses to live, you see growth in her own story. In the last bars of the verse referencing a moment, she touched on in a previous song titled “Ignite.” Where initially she had stated “I don’t really like to think about the history. I don’t even really wonder if you miss me. Don’t get it wrong cause I know you not against me.” It’s interesting to see how over time she has embraced her true feelings. Allowing herself to feel and do as she pleases as her authentic self. Without anyone else’s approval, aside her own.

“It’s scaring me to think about what I see with this clarity. People all around me, I feel like they’re barely bearing me. Sitting back, living life, observing all my tendencies. Truthfully they didn’t turn out how they were supposed to be. This life was never what it’s s’posed to be, but I’m a paint a bigger picture cause it’s owed to me. And I been moving this way based off what you showing me. And I’m a make sure that I’m living how I’m s’posed to be.”

After verse one and into the hook by Zelda, this is a prime example of getting out your feelings and into your bag. There’s something to be said about increasing your self awareness, being able to detect what your presence does to those who surround you and their response to how you act or react. It can be a double edged sword, that cuts you for not thinking much about it or for caring too much about what they think. Regardless of the way you choose to live your life, there’s always going to be antagonistic response from all angles. They say life itself is suffering but removing yourself from that attachment, the source of suffering, is the first step to self enlightenment. Zelda is raising her standards so that the universe can meet her where she is meant to be at.

Trusting in yourself is the greatest mile stone any human can reach in their life as it allows you to reach the pinnacle of your highest potential. You become what you envision and its harder than ever to clearly focus on what is meant for you. However, if you can tune out all the white noise, there’s a frequency that you will effortless be able to vibrate with and reach new wavelengths spiritually. For then you will have the tools to embrace the journey and endure everything it pulls you through. There’s no reason to deny or run from what is meant for you but without an awareness of your inner workings, there’s no way to ever come to find out. All you are left with to be are the things you tend to see, that’s why they call them tendencies.

“So look inside my brain, this shit is not too pretty. I played the game and paid the price, now look who’s with me. But thangs are crazy, life is fast but we can get it on. But she texting me and calling, asking why she ain’t the one. This is just another day of life, this is not too crazy though. I just got some people really asking on the daily though. Pass it just like Brady though, classic shit like 84. Know my mental health ain’t great but I know I’ll make it, yo.”

Brooksy immediately takes that same sentiment that was cleverly spelt out by Zelda and runs with it. Bringing his own flavor while speaking his truth. He’s another like minded individual with a motive to advance himself the only way he knows how. Laying low, getting high, and providing vibes fit for the world he wants to remain in. It may hurt a few people along the way but broken hearts are preferred over a broken spirit. There’s little time to give into another who isn’t going to bring the best out of him or keep him focused on the mission. Doing what he can to maintain and enjoy the good moments with the temporary people that come with the lifestyle. It’s not meant for the weak minded, it’s a fast life and nothing really lasts. It may take a toll over time and you’ll find out who is there for you or not.

The fake love that comes along tends to reveal itself and its just another thing to brush off your shoulder. When you’re in it, it’s regular and just another day. For those on the outside, its unfathomable and brings discomfort from what they do not understand. The lifestyle is not meant for everyone to understand, but to those that can find their footing and are meant for the grind then there’s nothing to worry about. No one else has their shit together like you do. So trust in the process and put in what you want to get out eventually. Brooksy effortlessly swags out with his philosophy on life, to let people know that being yourself comes with a price but worth every cent that would be spent.

His delivery and cadence contrasted with those of Zelda, makes an interesting dynamic on this song. Brooksy goes back into the hook with backing vocals over Zelda's, providing a new texture and cleanses the listeners’ palate for the song’s outro. For being just under 3 minutes, the song is such an experience of it’s own that it feels as if it is only half of that time stamp. In turn, causing you to immediately run it back and try to digest the substance that was skillfully blended in with tricky wordplay and metaphors in between.

Overall, this record is strong and intuitive. It’s a form of therapy when thinking of obstacles, misunderstandings, and realizations from your own experiences. There’s a desire to want to let others draw their own conclusions about you without letting it affect the way you pen your own story. I sincerely thank Zelda and Brooksy for the subtle reminder to go harder. To show those who suppress your true self that you can thrive without their acceptance. No matter what you think is wrong with you, your weakness can be your strengths. How you live does not define who you are in life. You are the curator in your museum and you do not have to allow just anybody access to that. Protect your energy and use it wisely, it matters where you place it. Pressure makes diamonds but the way you treat it after the fact brings you the clarity.
